Chelsea Zak (she/her) is a musician, theatre-maker, and educator celebrated for her “eloquent” leadership and “truly impressive” skill set (Miscellany News) both on and off the stage. She is currently a candidate for a Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre Vocal Pedagogy at Boston Conservatory at Berklee (expected 2027), where her work is driven by a commitment to inclusive pedagogy, the development of new creative projects, and artistry that inspires bold, individual action toward social change. A graduate of Vassar College with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Drama, Chelsea went on to become the second woman in Webster University’s history to earn a Bachelor of Music in Music Direction for Musical Theatre— completing the program on an accelerated track in just two years. Since 2022, she has served each summer as a teaching artist at Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts. Her professional credits as a music director include her New York City debut at 54 Below, conducting Brooke DiSpirito’s original musical The Beautiful and Damned, as well as her St. Louis debut with Anything Goes at the Kirkwood Theatre Guild — a production that earned her a nomination for “Best Music Direction of a Musical” in the St. Louis Arts for Life Best Performance Awards.
