Chelsea Zak (she/her) is a musician, theatremaker and educator with a reputation for “eloquent” leadership and a “truly impressive” skill set on and offstage (Miscellany News). Her work is centered around inclusive pedagogy, development of new work, and creative projects that prompt decisive, individual  action to create change. After graduating from Vassar College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Drama, she became the second woman to graduate from Webster University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Direction for Musical Theatre. Beginning in Fall 2025, Chelsea will attend Boston Conservatory at Berklee to earn her Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre Vocal Pedagogy. Since 2022, Chelsea has been a teaching artist at Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts. Her most significant professional credits as a music director include her New York City debut at 54 Below conducting Brooke DiSpirito’s original musical, The Beautiful and Damned, and her St. Louis debut conducting Anything Goes at the Kirkwood Theatre Guild — for which she received a nomination for “Best Music Direction of a Musical“ in the St. Louis Arts for Life Best Performance Awards. She hopes this site can provide more information about her work, and an avenue to inquire about gigs, bookings, lessons, and artistic collaboration. Thanks for stopping by!
